Our story
Born from frustration
We started Wildroot because we were tired. Tired of shelf labels full of sulfates, silicones, and synthetic fragrance masking the same five harsh ingredients in every bottle. Tired of "curl-friendly" products that still weighed down waves or left coils feeling stripped. Tired of the disconnect between what companies claimed and what actually worked.
So we decided to make something different.
Rooted in plants
Every ingredient in a Wildroot formula is there for a reason. We source from suppliers who care as much as we do — botanical extracts, cold-pressed oils, plant-derived humectants that actually work with your hair's natural moisture cycle, not against it. No shortcuts. No fillers. Just honest ingredients that do what we say they do.

How we make it

Source with intention
We build relationships with suppliers who share our values — botanical farms, ethical processors, and ingredient experts who know their plants. Every shipment is inspected and tested before we use it. We know where our rosemary comes from. We know how our shea is processed.
Hand-mix and formulate
Our small-batch approach means we're not pouring thousands of gallons into industrial vats. We hand-mix formulas in smaller quantities, which lets us stay nimble, adjust ratios based on seasonal ingredient variations, and maintain complete quality control. Every bottle gets the same attention.
Test on real texture
Before any product reaches you, it's tested on real curls, coils, and waves — different density, porosity, and pattern. We watch how it defines, how it moisturizes, how it behaves in humidity. We listen to feedback and adjust. No formulas leave our space until we're confident they work.
